What better way to sharpen your cooking skills then practicing in the comfort of your own kitchen? Whether it’s a small cooking class for two, or with a larger group of friends, Monique will make learning new recipes fun and informative for you and your guests. Ideal for bridal showers, baby showers, birthday parties, or just a fun night in with friends. A Now You’re Cooking class is a unique way to entertain your guests as you make your way to becoming a better cook.
You and your friends will learn to cook delicious food in a fun, interactive and relaxed atmosphere. Working in your own kitchen helps create a feeling of familiarity with the environment. You’ll be able to absorb more of the information from the lesson, as well as recreate these dishes in the future with equipment you’re comfortable with.
Classes are approximately 2 hours long and are completely hands-on. At the end of the lesson you’ll have a delicious, ready-to-eat meal prepared, as well as a copy of the recipe.
Menus are developed to fit the tastes and skill level of your group. They are built around 3 courses. From quick and easy meals to sushi-making, each class includes all ingredients, hands-on cooking instruction, and take-home recipe sheets. Custom menus can be designed for your event and suggestions are highly encouraged! Check out some of our recent classes here.
Evenings and weekends have the most availability. For the months of July and August select weekday times are available. Please contact Monique for more detailed information on scheduling. Once you’ve found a date that works, you’ll have to send in a non-refundable deposit to hold it, and the planning begins.
Groceries and Gadgets
All the ingredients required for the recipe are included in the class pricing. Besides the actual kitchen and/or dining area, all you would need to provide are plates, glasses, cutlery and beverages (yes, that means wine for all you grown-ups). Monique will go over the basic equipment requirements (e.g. mixing bowls, pots, baking pans, etc.) prior to scheduling.
Pricing depends on the type of menu selected, number of class participants (minimum of two), and location. Some of our private, in-home cooking classes start at $75.00/per person for a 2 hour session. If a class requires more recipes, if they include certain ingredients, or if it needs to run a little longer, it will cost a bit more. Cash and cheques are the preferred method of payment. If you wish to pay by credit card you will be provided with an online link to pay via PayPal.
Cooking class can be held in any home in the Toronto area. Worried if your kitchen will be large enough? As long as you have enough space so that each of your guests can use a cutting board, you should be fine! Round-trip travel over 30kms is subject to an additional fee at the time of booking.
